Seven-And-A-Half Cents
Dan DAVID (sorry) Levy reminded me moments ago that it’s Labor Day, which reminds me of “The Pajama Game,” which reminds me of “7 1/2 Cents,” its ode to workers and overtime and sticking it to the bosses, which reminds me of driving home with my family when I was a youngin’ after we’d seen “The Pajama Game” with Judy Kaye at the New York City Opera, which reminds me of listening to the cassette of the OBC on the way home and singing along to “There Once Was a Man” about five or six times in a row at the top of our lungs as my cranky older brother sat in the back and prayed for his life to end.
Good times.
